So many people now work on a contract basis. If this is your situation then you should be aware of some additional documentation that you need to have gathered. You are effectively assessed as a self-employed applicant.

The key points to know if you work on a contract basis.

The fact that you are a contract worker shouldn’t be the issue but you do need to have the following:

  • Your contracts should be consecutive preferably for 12 mts in duration]
  • 3 years revenue Tax returns: Chapter 4 & Form 11
  • 3 years certified accounts ( signed off by accountant /book keeper)
  • Confirmation that your tax is all up to date
  • Copy of your current Contract
  • 6 mts business current accounts statements
  • Details of any other lending you have and statements for same
  • CV style work history – noting qualifications, skills
  • Prove that there is a demand for your skill and area of expertise
  • Evidencing sustainability of income : Examples of salary’s within industry
  • Demand for skills within industry, comparable incomes/ vacancies currently on offer
  • Should 3 years self-employed documentation be unavailable a P21 for last PAYE employment
